  • Changed Format Current File shortcut from Shift+F to Shift+Ctrl+A.
  • Removed/Changed all default Alt+(Key) shortcuts because they interfere with Alt menu navigation.
  • Assigned some new default shortcuts like Ctrl+B (Open Containing Folder) and F2 (Rename File).
  • Fixed Show Makefile being executable when no compiler set is configured.

  • The setup which includes TDM-GCC 4.8.1 (32bit and 64bit) can be downloaded here (47MB).
  • The setup which does not include a compiler can be downloaded here (2MB).
  • The portable version which includes TDM-GCC 4.8.1 (32bit and 64bit) can be downloaded here (34MB).
  • The portable version which does not include a compiler can be downloaded here (2MB).
  • The latest tested compilers can be downloaded here.

  1. the v5.9.2 files seem to be missing...

by any chance did u discover a new bug and u had to yank v5.9.2 from release?

thx for taking over and revitalizing Dev-C++,

the dev pack concept is cool and a great way to maintain the src code of libraries being used to write programs with
and keeping those up to date is a lot more user friendly ;D ^_^

    1. Regarding not being able to download 5.9.2 yet, SourceForge is having trouble updating the file repository.

    2. Okay, SourceForge seems to have things sorted out now. Enjoy your new version!

    3. oohh ok, thx again!

if you don't mind me posting it here suggests for updates to Dev-C++

      - updating the import functionality (all versions from .dsp (MS VC++ v6) to the latest, and maybe even other project file types and lets not forget their Workspace files ;D)

      - the webupdate module [Tools --> Check for packages] isn't working right, connection failing...

      etc.. loi ;D

    4. another thing... it would be good if the installer(s) remember the install directory when installing over a previous version.. you know for upgrading an existing. install

that would be a good future feature to add to the installers a one click upgrade if u need an example
      Foobar2000 --
      FileZilla --
once installed any future updates will offer a a kinda one click upgrade option ^_^

      in my case i use

I use Dev- to prefix(s) like:

in the root to keep all the src/dev stuff together
long story short its a File/Directory nomenclature thing I do.

ps: in the case of Dev-C++ I installed v5.8.3 using the TDM installer to get full compiler Dev-C++ likes best and can keep all to its self... and use the no compiler installer to update to v5.9.0/1/ v5.9.2 tonight.

    1. I'm sorry, this is not the place to discuss programming related problems.

  3. I don't know why, but since (i think) 5.9.1 Dev-C++ crashes very often. This isn't just in one Project, but in every Projects I have; While writing code Dev-C++ just randomly crashes (without an error report) that's it. Good thing is that I have an old Version of Visual Studio with a debugger, so here's the Information I get when I click on the Debug-Button on the "Dev-C++ has stopped working" message:
Unhandled Exception in devcpp.exe (USER32.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access Violation

  4. Released new TDM-GCC:

  5. I have a problem, my system is 64bits but the Installer sends the file to the 32bit folder -Program files (x86)-, does that means that it is installing the 32bits version as well?

    1. Or is it just because the editor is a 32 bit app?

    2. Yes, the editor is a 32bit app except for the debugger used to debug 64bit programs.

    3. I use a directory nomenclature like this
Eyy Orwell is there any chance some day you might port Dev-C++ to 64bit?

  6. Thanks!! can you upgrade for TDM-GCC 4.9.2?? thanks for the hard work. Tal.

  7. how can i change the keyboard input method for dev c ++ from the same program

  8. Does anyone know where the hash number is for this file?

  9. When I Click The EXE File That I Made From A Project
Nothing Happens... It Wont Even Show An Error Message To Tell Me Whats Wrong

  10. When I Use Windows Application Mode In New Project

Then I Code My Simple Program
    And Make A EXE

The EXE Does Nothing When I Click It Not Even An Error Message

However When I Use Console Application Mode In New Project

And Code My Program And Make My EXE

And Click My EXE, It Works

Why Wont It Work In That Other Mode?

I Made That Comment Earlier Today Too
